A Foot Health Professional is someone who is qualified to provide routine foot care and maintenance of people’s feet. Most people benefit from foot care maintenance to keep their feet healthy and pain-free.
A Foot Health Professional is trained to trim and file nails, reduce thickened nails, remove hard skin, corns and callus, treat fungal nail infections, athlete’s foot, ingrowing toenails and cracked heels and assist with diabetic foot care.
Our feet take the weight of our whole body, so foot problems can quickly lead to discomfort and have an effect on the way we walk – causing knee, hip and back pain. Having regular foot care maintenance can help prevent some of these problems occurring.
A Foot Health Professional does not perform any invasive techniques which require a local anaesthetic or any injections and they cannot give out prescribed medication.
